While it may be the holiday season, and we still have a long winter ahead, many anglers may want to begin planning for the 2005 Derby, which will be the 60th edition of this storied tournament. With that in mind, the Derby Committee is pleased to announce the dates for the 2005 Derby.
It will begin on Sunday, September 11 and end on Saturday, October 15.
For those who wish to make ferry reservations, plan vacations, book charters, and rent houses, these dates will allow you to start making plans. Again, the Derby will run for a full five weeks, hopefully offering more excellent weather (like we enjoyed in 2004) and even better fishing.
The Derby Committee meets monthly throughout the year. This winter we will again review and reconsider many rules and procedures. If you have a suggestion for us, please e-mail the Derby Chairman through the "Contact Us" portion of this page.
Finally, we extend to the entire Derby family - participants, sponsors, volunteers, and friends - best wishes for a healthy, peaceful New Year. We look forward to seeing you in September.
