Join in the Excitement of the Derby's "Super Saturday Events".
Again in 2009, the Derby offers some special prize events, outside of the standard Award Structure. To be eligible, participants must sign up at the time of regular Derby registration, and pay an additional $10 fee.
The 2009 Super Saturday Events are as follows:
- Saturday, September 19th, the anglers weighing in the heaviest overall shore and boat bluefish each will win $500.
- Saturday, September 26th, the anglers weighing in the heaviest overall shore and boat false albacore each will win $500.
- Saturday, October 3rd, the anglers weighing in the heaviest overall shore and boat striped bass each will win $500.
- Saturday, October 10th, the anglers weighing in the heaviest overall shore and boat bonito each will win $500.
- Saturday, October 17th, one lucky person will be randomly selected and win $500. This person does NOT have to weigh in a fish.
